Zhu Zhu Hamsters are 2009's Hottest Toy
If you have watched any television with your child over the last month, there is a good chance that you have seen a commercial for Zhu Zhu Pets Hamsters. If you haven't seen one of these commercials, you might think that this is a new breed of hamsters. However, Zhu Zhu Pets Hamsters aren't real hamsters. Instead, they are plush toy hamsters that operate on AAA batteries and run around on the floor.
For those of you who have seen the television commercials, you might have had a hunch that these were going to be a popular toy this year. Thanks to the high energy nature of the commercials, kids respond instantly when they see them. If you show the commercial to any child, chances are they are going to want their very own right away.
While many people were guessing that this was going to be a popular toy for the Christmas season, Toys"R"Us has now made this official. In fact, not only did Zhu Zhu Pets Hamsters make their list of the fifteen hottest toys for the 2009 holiday season, but the Zhu Zhu Pets Hamsters are actually predicted to be the hottest toy on this list.
So, what makes a toy that seems so simple such a hot product this year? Well, given the current state of the economy, it just may be a sign of the times. While there are toys on the hot list that cost hundreds of dollars, Zhu Zhu Pets Hamsters retail for just $8 (however, expect prices to go through the roof as the holidays get closer and demand for these toys increases).
Another reason that these hamsters made their way to the top of the hot list is because they are so customizable. To begin with, there are four different hamsters: Mr. Squiggles, Pipsqueek, Num Nums and Chunk. There is also a fifth hamster (Patches), who is only available with the special Starter House. Speaking of the Starter House, not only is there this "play area" for the hamsters, but there is also a Funhouse. In addition to these two houses, there are a wide variety of add-ons, including a hamster wheel and garage (which comes with its own miniature car).
In addition to the hamsters, houses and add-ons, there are also accessories for the hamsters. The accessories include an Adventure Ball, blankets and carriers in a variety of colors, beds and much more. When kids see this wide variety of choices, they can't help but get excited!
Because there is no denying how hot these toys are going to be this year, if you have children, you better buy these as presents now. Stores and websites are already selling out of the hamsters, houses and accessories, so if you want to ensure that your child has a smile when Christmas morning arrives, make sure that you make your purchases now and hide them until "Santa puts them under the tree!"

HOW ZHU ZHU PETS WORK
Do keep in mind when you buy your Zhu Zhu pets, it's disadvantage like most battery operated toys, is that you are bound to encounter a few snags, as you will see in the video, the Zhu Zhu Pets do require interaction from the kids in order to function at their optimum.
Zhu Zhu pets do come with a guarantee so if you do encounter any flaws you could easily get a refund or exchange the product.
But lets look on the plus side.Unlike real hamster pets, the Zhu Zhu pets can entertain at the touch of a button. Zhu Zhu pets are built in with two modes; The Loving Mode which allows kids to Pet them, love them, then hear them squeak and chatter back. TheExplore Mode lets them scoot, scamper, bump & boogie across the floor or through their Hamster Habitat. This is sure to get the kids excited as the Zhu Zhu pets scamper around in their Zhu Zhu Accessories.
For example when you want to cuddle with or "reward" your hamster, pet it on the head (right behind the ears) Your hamster will chirp and purr and coo contentedly. These little fur balls love it when you pet them... and they'll keep "talking" until they get bored and go to sleep.
To let your hamster know it's OK to run around and explore its environment, press it on its back and watch them go! Zhu Zhu Pets Hamsters love to run around and explore. If you want to calm them down, you can pat it on the head button to cuddle (and it will stop running) or you can press it on its back and you will hear your Zhu Zhu Pet Hamster yawn and then go to sleep

WHY I LOVE THE ZHU ZHU PETS...
One of my biggest concerns giving pets as a gift to children is wondering how they will handle the responsibility of cleaning and feeding the pet and explaining what happened to the pet if the pet dies. The reason I love the Zhu Zhu Pets is because they are a great way to get your kids accustomed to caring for a pet and the Zhu Zhu Pets is that they are good clean fun. When the Zhu Zhu Pets run out of energy you simply recharge the batteries and they are good to go bringing endless joy to your kids.
You don't have the smell or the mess of a real hamster to contend with and your kids wont have to endure any heartache of losing their beloved pet hamster.

WHAT MAKES THE ZHU ZHU PETS SO SPECIAL
Real hamsters may be cheaper but unlike real pet hamsters the mechanical Zhu Zhu Pets with artificial intelligence can be operated by the kids to perform certain actions thereby making them more entertaining and interactive and best of all they are pet hamsters without the mess.
Zhu Zhu Pets are the world’s first innovative, realistic, interactive, plush, and artificially intelligent hamsters that talk and move around in their own play sets.Their artificial intelligence even allows Zhu Zhu Pets to know what room of their hamster habitat they are in.The Zhu ZHu Pets have a code reader which enables them to detect which part of their Zhu Zhu Pets Funhouse they are in so they react accordingly.
Do note that as a result of this sensitive code reader you should encourage the kids to care for the Zhu Zhu Pets as if they were real-especially if you are trying to teach the kids responsibility of caring for a real pet. Try to avoid using the Zhu Zhu Pet son hard surface as this could damage the sensor. They work best in their Zhu Zhu Pets Fun House.
They even make toilet-flushing or teethbrushing sounds when they enter the bathroom and sleeping noises and alarm-clock sounds when they go into their bedroom. It’s simply adorable watching them!

Zhu Zhu Pets: Like a Hamster Without the Mess and Death
Zhu Zhu Pets: Like a Hamster Without the Mess and Death
Zhu Zhu Pets are like pet rocks only cute. The trendy little toy looks and feels like a real hamster only it doesn't make a mess and will never die. Children can play with them without fear of being bitten and without worrying about being too rough. Sounds like a great toy, but is it?
A friend of mine had a real hamster growing up and learning to care for the small vulnerable pet was part of the fun. My friend had to earn the right to get a hamster by showing she was responsible enough to look after it properly. She had to clean the cage, give it fresh water and food, and make sure it was clean. The lesson of empathy was an important part of having such a cute little pet.
Zhu Zhu Pets offer the fun of a hamster without that responsibility. The company even markets the toy that way. Zhu Zhu Pets may be mess and death free but some important life lessons are lost by replacing a real pet with this cuddly toy. Children learn about empathy by having a pet, they learn about responsibility by having to care for it, and when that pet dies, they learn how to cope with death.
Zhu Zhu Pets may be all the rage this year, they may be the next Tickle Me Elmo or Cabbage Patch Doll, but I won't get one for my daughter. I'll stick with the real thing over this doppleganger hamster.

Zhu Zhu Pets - Will Zhu Zhu Pets Become the Next Cabbage Patch Kid?
Chances are you've heard a lot of buzz lately about the newest toy phenomenon sweeping the nation. Of course, I'm talking about Zhu Zhu Pets. Pronounced like "Zoo Zoo Pets" these are battery operated hamsters that run on wheels around hamster trail tracks that the owner sets up for them. The company is billing them as just like a real hamster, but without the mess.
Obviously, that's a selling point meant to appeal to the parents of the target market, the children, because I don't really think that the kids themselves care a whole lot about the mess that real hamsters, or any real pets, leave behind.
Zhu Zhu Pets look real enough, and yes they do scamper quite cutely around the little habitrail tracks that are sold in parts, in a modular style, through the company. However, what is the true purpose of a pet? It's companionship. It's interaction. It's being able to hold the little animal up to your chin, to snuggle it against your cheek, to feel warmth and movement and a heartbeat. To see little eyes looking back at you with awareness when you look into them. This is what staves off loneliness, this is what provides companionship, this is what makes us love our pets, our real pets, and not just play with them.
In conclusion, Zhu Zhu Pets are very good for what they actually are - a cute toy that can provide hours of entertaining fun for a child with a good imagination. But just like a pet without the mess? Sorry. That hasn't been invented yet.

Are Zhu Zhu Pets the Most Popular Toy This Year?
Every few years a craze seems to come along that overtakes all others. There has not been a major toy craze for a few years now but what we have with the zhu zhu pets hamsters at the moment means we certainly have a massive toy craze to deal with.
What this means for parents is that nearly all of them will have been told that they need to supply a zhu hamster this year. It probably won't end there either. Parents will probably be expected to also supply at the very least the hamster funhouse to go with with the hamster. There are countless other extras so be sure to not get carried away unless you have very deep pockets.
Although relatively cheap at the moment we are sure to see significant price rises in the near future. As fewer of them are available then the prices will rise and there is no doubt that near to Christmas they will be very scarce indeed. We should all be aware that they are by far the most popular toy this year, and in fact sales are already overtaking many of the most popular toys from the past.
What we will need to do is buy a toy as soon as we can, and buying online makes the process much easier and will mean a lot less of a problem for us. It is already hard to find zhu zhu pets hamsters in shops on the high street so we can save ourselves time and effort by buying online cheaply from selected stores.
